Abstract Workflow

In the abstract model, a workflow is described in an abstract form, in which the workflow is specified without binding to specific computational resources for an activity execution. The abstract level itself may be further decomposed into different sublevels of abstraction. For example, we may define an abstract workflow in terms of its tasks and then decompose in terms of algorithms.

Modelo inicial do Workflow científico no qual a especificação ainda não se refere (abstrai) aos recursos ou infra-estrutura computacionais para a execução de cada atividade que o compõem. O nível de abstração pode ser ajustado de acordo com a necessidade ou complexidade do experimento científico. Por exemplo, podemos definir um workflow abstrato em termos de atividades conceituais, ou em termos de algoritmos que são usados nestas atividades.
