External Replication
External replication is performed by independent researchers. Other researchers in other settings with different samples attempt to reproduce the research as closely as possible. If the results of the replication are consistent with the original research, we have increased confidence in the hypothesis that the original study supported.

A replicação externa é executada por pesquisadores independentes. Outros pesquisadores, em outro contexto, com diferentes amostras, tentam reproduzir a pesquisa o mais próximo possível. Se os resultados da replicação são consistentes com a pesquisa original, então se aumenta a confiança na hipótese que o estudo original defendia.
