English

Replication

The collection of two or more observations under a set of identical experimental conditions.

The replication of an experiment involves repeating the investigation under identical conditions, but on another population. The purpose of a replication is to show that the result from the original experiment is valid for a larger population. This helps finding out how much confidence it is possible to place in the results of the experiment.

Portuguese

Repetição

A coleção de duas ou mais observações realizadas num contexto de condições de experimentação idênticas.
