Theory Building

Theory building is the development of theories that explain how and why certain phenomena occur and allow predictions to be made. In any empirical study, theories have a strong impact on how things are observed and interpreted, but the role of theory in research differs depending on the adopted philosophical stance.

A construção de teoria é o desenvolvimento de teorias que explicam como e por que certos fenômenos ocorrem e permitir que previsões sejam feitas. Em qualquer estudo empírico, teorias têm um forte impacto em como as coisas são observadas e interpretadas, mas o papel da teoria na pesquisa difere dependendo do posicionamento filosófico adotado.
